One of my Projects

My name's Scott and I'm a Design student and Victoria University in Wellington.
Welcome to my blog...

Let me tell you about one of my recent projects. The brief was to construct a drawing of a 3D letter in different views (plan, elevation and orthographic). I chose the letter "F" because a capital "F' is one of the easiest letters to draw. So off we all went, drawing our 3D letters and making them look nice and pretty with a bit of hatching and other forms of shading. The hardest part was the orthographic view. We had to be so precise in our measurements because if one point was out by even a couple of millimeters, things started to look pretty strange. Eventually, I finished my three views and went about trying to give the drawing character. I added some shadows, stuck on some Dec-A-Dry letters and put in a heap of construction lines. Finally, I was finished.

I quite like the result because although it is essentially just a drawing of the letter "F", it manages to look quite interesting and dynamic.

Thanks for reading!
